About

Quality installations, finally with an online presence to match.

U&I Renewables are a Yorkshire-based renewable energy installer covering air source heat pumps, solar PV, solar thermal, battery storage, hot water cylinders, gas boilers, and ongoing servicing. They’re also an approved installer under the government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme, helping homeowners access grants of up to £7,500 toward heat pump installations.

They came to us doing quality work, but with an online presence actively holding the business back. The brief was straightforward: a new website that looked the part, and an SEO foundation that could actually compete in one of the noisiest local search categories there is.

Full website rebuild on a new domain, WordPress and Breakdance
200+ location-specific pages targeting every service and area combination
Local SEO strategy designed to outrank established competitors
WooCommerce integration for product sales alongside the service offering

Challenge

An old domain and an SEO history that delivered nothing, in a sector where homeowner trust is everything.

When U&I came to us, they were operating on an old site under a previous domain, uandiservicingltd, that was visually dated, slow, and had no SEO strategy to speak of. They’d previously worked with an SEO agency that had delivered little to nothing in terms of rankings or enquiries.

For a company covering the whole of Yorkshire across multiple services and locations, the website simply wasn’t working. They were doing quality work, but their online presence wasn’t reflecting it or bringing in new business.

Renewables is a competitive local market. Homeowners considering a £10,000 heat pump installation aren’t going to enquire from a site that looks like it hasn’t been touched since 2015. The brief was clear: look more professional, rank better in Google, generate more enquiries.

Solution

Start fresh: new domain, new build, local SEO baked in from the structural level.

We recommended starting fresh. There was no value in patching the old site. The domain, the design, and the structure all needed replacing. New domain, new website, built from the ground up on WordPress and Breakdance, with local SEO baked in from the structural level rather than bolted on afterwards.

The strategic core was the location coverage. We built over 200 location-specific pages covering every meaningful combination of service and target area across Yorkshire. The hard part in a competitive sector like renewables isn’t building pages at scale, it’s making them earn their rankings. Thin, templated pages get ignored by Google. Each page is written and structured to be genuinely useful to someone searching for that service in that area.

Build

Four pieces wired together, with 200+ location pages doing the heavy lifting.
  • A new website on a clean domain. Full rebuild on WordPress and Breakdance with a design built for homeowner trust: clean layout, clear service information, prominent calls to action throughout.
  • Service pages with depth. Each of U&I’s seven core services has its own dedicated page, structured around what a homeowner actually needs to know: what the technology does, what the installation process involves, and how to get a quote.
  • 200+ location pages, built to rank. A programmatic-but-not-thin approach to local SEO, covering every service across every target area in Yorkshire. Each page is structured and written to earn its rankings rather than chase them.
  • WooCommerce for product sales, care plan for everything else. Product sales integrated alongside the service offering, with ongoing hosting and maintenance handled under a Pixelish care plan.

Outcome

Six months to traction, and the same approach that brought them to us.

The site took around six months to start gaining real traction, normal for a brand new domain in a competitive niche. Since launch, U&I have seen consistent growth in organic traffic, strong rankings across both service and local search terms, and a steady flow of inbound enquiries.

They found Pixelish via Google themselves before we started working together. The same approach we used to get them found is the same approach that got us found by them.

We continue to host, maintain, and expand the site as U&I grow their coverage and service range. The SEO foundation is solid. The ongoing work is building on it.
