The Green Partnership are a South Yorkshire renewable energy installer supplying and fitting solar panels, battery storage, EV chargers, and heat pumps to homeowners across the region. They’d built a solid reputation through word of mouth and a strong Trustpilot presence but their website wasn’t keeping pace with the quality of their work.
The Green Partnership came to us via a personal recommendation. Their existing site was built on Squarespace and it showed. Broken images, a wall of text with no clear user journey, and a design that simply did not reflect the professionalism of the business behind it.
Beyond the aesthetics, Squarespace itself was holding them back. The platform proprietary tools made meaningful customisation awkward and expensive, the design flexibility wasn’t there, performance was poor, and SEO control was minimal. They were essentially stuck either managing a mediocre site themselves or paying a developer a premium every time they needed a change.
For a company selling premium renewable energy installations to homeowners making significant financial decisions, none of that was good enough.
The recommendation was straightforward: move to WordPress. Not because Squarespace can’t work for anyone, but because it wasn’t working for them and wouldn’t, without serious compromise.
WordPress with Breakdance gave us full design control, proper SEO capability, and the freedom to build exactly what the site needed without fighting the platform. Hosting on our LiteSpeed server meant performance was no longer a constraint. The result is a site that loads fast, looks sharp, and can grow with the business without a hefty bill every time something needs changing.
This is a pattern we see regularly with Squarespace clients – similar to what we did for Rejuvenair Sanctuary when they outgrew Wix: the platform feels like a good idea at the start, but as a business matures and its needs grow, the limitations become increasingly costly in money, in time, and in missed opportunity.
The entire site was rebuilt from scratch with trust and conversions as the primary design objectives. Renewable energy is a considered purchase homeowners are spending thousands of pounds and they need to feel confident before they enquire. Every design decision was made with that in mind.
Key elements of the build:
Their 4.6 Trustpilot rating is prominently displayed, supported by manufacturer partner logos and a clean, professional layout that signals credibility immediately.
Each core service has its own dedicated page, structured around what a homeowner needs to understand before making an enquiry.
Built from scratch using Fluent Forms, the calculator lets visitors input their situation and see potential savings turning passive browsers into engaged prospects.
On our LiteSpeed hosting with proper caching, the site loads in under three seconds. The improvement over the old Squarespace site was immediately measurable.
Full migration from Squarespace to WordPress, site loading in under three seconds on LiteSpeed hosting, a custom energy savings calculator built from scratch, and a design centred on homeowner trust – with their 4.6 Trustpilot rating front and centre.
The Green Partnership are now on a Pixelish care plan we handle all hosting, maintenance, security, and updates. As their product range grows, new service and landing pages are added to match. What started as a migration has become a long-term partnership.
This project was led by James Taylor, Director at Pixelish.
James and his team worked quickly and efficiently, transforming our site into a professional, well-directed platform with a clear message. For the first time, we had a website we were genuinely proud of.
