Pixelish was founded by James Taylor in 2022, after 14 years building WordPress sites inside other agencies. The pattern in those agencies was the same one most prospects describe to us now: sites built fast, handed over, then quietly broken by the time anyone went looking. Account managers moving on. Developers rotating out. The relationships that should have lasted years rarely making it past month six.

Pixelish was built around the opposite idea. Same team on the project at launch and three years later. Same number you call when something breaks. Same person quoting your next phase as built the first one.

Four things we won't bend on.

WordPress, properly.

WordPress is all we build on. No Wix, no Shopify, no Squarespace, no "whatever the client wants." 14 years of doing one thing well rather than five things badly.

02.

Established work, only.

We work with established UK businesses across healthcare, renewables, professional services, e-commerce and the trades, where the website has to actually do something for the business.

03.

Honesty, always.

If a project will take longer, we'll say so. If we think you're overcomplicating it, we'll tell you. If we're not the right fit, we'll point you at who is. The expensive lessons all come from agencies telling clients what they wanted to hear.

Long-term by default.

We work with fewer clients than most agencies, because doing fewer things properly beats doing lots of things badly. Most of our work comes from clients we've been with for years, and most of our new work comes from those same clients sending us new ones.
