On 15th November 2014, five teenagers lost their lives in a road traffic accident in Doncaster. The Lost & Found Road Safety Campaign was created by Jordanna’s mum, Vicki, and a close family friend, Vicky – a teacher in Doncaster – to ensure that Jordanna’s memory lives on, and that other families never experience the same heartbreak.
Working with Outwood Academy Adwick and schools across the region, the campaign delivers a 40-minute road safety assembly to Year 11 and post-16 students. The goal is simple: give young people the skills and knowledge to make better decisions on the roads.
The campaign had no online presence. They needed somewhere to tell Jordanna’s story, explain what they offer to schools, share media coverage and testimonials, and make it straightforward for schools to book an assembly.
The site also had to handle deeply emotional subject matter with sensitivity – without losing the clarity and practicality that schools need when they’re trying to book a session or find out more.
We built this site pro bono. Some projects matter more than a fee, and this was one of them.
The design is clean and respectful, letting the story speak for itself rather than getting in the way of it. The homepage leads with the campaign mission and impact, then tells Jordanna’s story. Dedicated sections cover the schools programme, testimonials and media coverage, upcoming events, and a straightforward contact and booking route for schools to request an assembly.
It’s a small site with a big purpose. We host it free of charge and continue to support the campaign as it grows.
Since launch, the campaign has delivered over 15 assemblies to more than 2,000 students across 6 or more partner schools – and continues to expand its reach.
Not every project is about business. The Lost & Found campaign exists to prevent other families from going through what Jordanna’s family went through. Building their website was the least we could do to help amplify that message.
If you run a cause or campaign that deserves to be heard and needs a hand getting online, get in touch.
This project was led by James Taylor, Director at Pixelish.
The team at Pixelish went above and beyond for us and made it possible for us to do what we do. The design of the website is perfect – they were super quick and nothing was too much trouble. We can’t thank them enough.
